Beneath the Flood Wall

Rain had fallen for fourteen hours when engineer Maya inspected the north flood wall. Near pump room C, she heard three slow taps through a metal inspection door. After a pause, the taps came again. The new city plan showed solid concrete behind that door. A week later, Maya stood before a corrected digital plan. The old corridor appeared in red with its condition, access points, and active cable clearly marked. She did not erase the red line after the repair. It had already carried one message through the wall.
